PIXEL ART CLASSROOM TUTORIALS

Partnering with Brilliant Labs, these tutorials were made to supplement classroom materials for hand-on tech and coding education sessions.

These were created specifically with pixel art to engage the imagination and spark creation in young minds.

Specifically, these tutorials-dressed-as-arcade-cabinets would familiarize students with a Makey Makey control device, a basic introduction to soldering and 3D printing servicing and operation.

Achievement Unlocked: The user who completes each tutorial tracks their progress with trophy cups that display as a high score.

Many of the activities were designed to be experiential in approach, delivering knowledge students would need before participating in lab work. Drag and drop interactions, such as the soldering badge tutorial above, use material from the instruction to propel the interactive narrative forward.

This project is currently IN DEVELOPMENT and a demo will be available here once completed.

Some interactions are made to be as simple as opening a box and becoming familiar with its contents.

Some aspects of the material are meant to be optional for users with various levels of knowledge. Above, a small interaction outlining the basics of an electrical circuit can be passed by pressing SKIP.

Where possible, ideas about science are presented using everyday objects. These two chocolate rabbits play a role in introducing the need to select the appropriate infill layers in a 3D print.
